Managing Director - James Mbote

James Mbote is a seasoned Oil and Gas Professional with vast experience in the global upstream oil and gas industry. His oilfield experience spans from 1999 working in drilling rigs operations and then moving to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) and drilling performance.

He currently runs several indigenous service companies in East Africa. Previously, he worked in Middle East and Africa for such companies as Shell Iraq Petroleum Development, Exxon Mobil Iraq, Woodside Energy, Nabors Drilling International Limited (NDIL) among others.

Finance Director - Mwendia Nyaga

Mwendia Nyaga is an Oil & Gas professional with 14 years’ industry experience in Kenya and the East African region. He is currently Finance Director of Oilfield Movers Limited having held this position since the company was founded in 2012. Prior to this, Mwendia has held top finance positions having been head of Finance at National Oil Corporation of Kenya, a State Corporation in the Oil and Gas sector, Group Finance Manager for Unga Holdings Limited and Finance Manager at Unga Feeds Limited. Previously, Mwendia was a Senior Auditor at Deloitte in Kenya where he started his finance and accounting career.

He is also the Chief Executive of Oil & Energy Services a boutique advisory firm providing consulting services to clients with an interest in the upstream and downstream petroleum industry in the Eastern Africa region. The company has been involved in several transformational projects in both private and public sectors. Before founding Oil and Energy Services and jointly founding Oilfield Movers Limited, Mwendia was the CEO of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya and later a Consultant to the Ministry of Energy.

He is a Certified Public Account of Kenya (CPA-K) and active member of both the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi.

He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), holds a 1st Class Honours Bachelor of Commerce Accounting and Finance (Double Major) from Strathmore University.
In addition, Mr.Mbote holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management conferred on him by the HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY, Edinburgh Business School.

Human Resources and Administration Director - Fred Mbote

Mr. Mbote is a youthful and energetic Kenyan with over 10 years of solid experience in the Oil & Gas Sector. This has seen him work in Mombasa, South Africa, Uganda and Mozambique. For the last eight years, Mr. Mbote has been intimately involved in the establishment and development of Royal Oilfields Logistics, Services & Supplies Limited and Oilfield Movers Limited, two companies that pioneered and continue to provide various services to the Upstream Oil and Gas energy sector as well as geothermal drilling projects in the East Africa Region. In addition to sitting in the Board of Directors, he is the leader of the Administration and Human Resource docket at OML. Over these years, Mr. Mbote has developed the following key competencies in various management functions including:

  • Managerial and financial strategy formulation, development and implementation
  • Designing systems and processes to manage all aspects of the company’s HR and Admin functions
  • Formulating and automation of operations policies and procedures
  • Providing leadership towards the companies attaining internationally accredited Quality Management Systems.
  • Project planning and management from start-up, milestones, KPIs and closure
  • A thorough understanding of the O&G Sector requirements and client expectations
  • Providing leadership during the prolonged slump in the O&G industry to keep the companies running profitably
  • Maintaining very high integrity and ethical values in very competitive environment
  • Manage company investments to maximize returns, while not compromising cash flows.
Maintenance Supervisor – Mr. Gee Gatabaki

Maintenance Supervisor - Gee Gatabaki

Mr. Gatabaki spans a 5 year maintenance management career distinguished by commended performance and proven results in the oil and gas sector, using quality management systems while utilizing British Standards BS7121-2-3, ISO 55000 and PAS 55 for standards on Asset Integrity Management.

He has  a background in B.Sc. Mechanical  Engineering from The University of Nairobi and a Pg. Diploma in Asset and Integrity Management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.

He is certified in Reliability Centered Maintenance, World Class Maintenance Strategies and Leadership by Prime Quality Training, as well as Vibration Analysis Category I and II by the Mobius  Institute. His other professional accreditations are:

  • Registered Graduate Engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya E.B.K. (Reg. No. B7528)   
  • A Member of the Energy Institute, United Kingdom. (Reg. N0. 0070050)
  • Basic Operational Safety and Health Committee Training by CORE occupational Solutions
Maintenance Supervisor – Mr. Gee Gatabaki

Senior Finance Associate - Oscar Kisilu

Oscar Kisilu is Finance and accounting professional with over 18 years’ experience in logistics sector in Kenya and the East African region. He is currently the Senior Finance Associate  at Oilfield Movers Limited having held this position since the company was founded in 2013. Prior to this, Oscar Kisilu has held different    finance positions in DHL Exel Supply Chain, initially as contract accountant then as Business Group accountant.

Bachelor of Commerce degree from KCA University.

Logistics Controller - Patrick Aswani

Patrick Aswani is a self-motivated professional  operating on autopilot with 6 years’ experience in logistics mainly warehousing and distribution by providing logistical solutions through the logistics information systems. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from     Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and technology    second class upper honors.

He has worked with internationally recognized companies such as DHL Supply Chain and  Bollore Transport Logistics. He is currently the Logistics Controller at Oil Field Movers whose  primary role is help the company optimize logistics operations efficiency and build competitive advantage by fully exploiting Logistics information systems in place and ensure full compliance through setting up tight controls in place that will promote integrity as one of the core values of OML.

Senior Human Resource And Administration Associate - Faith Jaoko

Faith Jaoko is a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) who is a full member of the Institute of Human Resource Management-Kenya (IHRM-K) . She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Social Work and an MBA in Human Resource Management both attained from The university of Nairobi.

She is a seasoned HR professional with over 6 years’ experience as HR Professional in various capacities. She has Worked in the NGO, IT and Testing and Inspection industries. She is passionate about working with teams to help them explore their potential as they contribute to   organisational goal and objectives.


Maintenance Supervisor – Mr. Gee Gatabaki

Projects Manager/Accounts Receivable - Godfrey Munuhe

Godfrey Munuhe is a finance professional with over  10 years’ experience. He is currently the Projects Manager/Accounts Receivables at Oilfield Movers Limited where his key roles are ensuring smooth running of projects by coordinating the various teams working on a project, ensuring timely, efficient and within budget delivery of projects.  

His experience spans to various other sectors including Corporate Management, Business Development, Finance Planning and Budgeting. Previously, Godfrey has previously worked with Grenadier Management Ltd as a       Finance officer and a Project accountant.

He is a Certified Public Account of Kenya (CPA-K) and active member of both the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Moi University.

Maintenance Supervisor – Mr. Gee Gatabaki

Procurement Associate - Wahu Njoroge

Wahu Njoroge is a procurement professional with over 5 years’ experience. She is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (MCIPS) who is a full member of the Kenya Institute (KISM). She holds a Bachelor's of Business and administration- Supply chain Management.

At Oilfield Movers Limited her key roles are Developing, updating and overseeing the application of appropriate quality control in the procurement function.

She has previously worked in the Information Systems industry and is passionate about upholding integrity in matters supply chain.
